Cartoon Ball

Lotte Reiniger:
Lotte Reiniger was a German animator known for pioneering silhouette animation. She used and helped develop the first multi-planar camera. A tool used to create multiple layers when making a cut out animation. Her animations where all monochrome ranging throughout the grey scale depending on how far back the layer was in a shot. She is most well known for making "The Adventures of Price Achmed" thought to be the oldest surviving feature-length animation.

Don Hertzfeldt:
Dom Hertzfeldt is an american animator and filmmaker. His animations are often digital using modern animation processes. His style is very comic strip-esk however many of his animations wander away from the stander child friendly direction the style might suggest. His animated series REJECTED can be quite dark and self-reflective.

Tool Kit 2: Ambient Occlusion

Tool Kit 2: Ambient Occlusion  Rendering Ambient Occlusion maps was something I was aware of from first year however this tutorial went into more detail about the shader in Arnold and as such was a really useful tutorial. Not only for the creation of good AO passes but for the knowledge I could potentially use the shader to create different effects because of the versatility of the shader. The end of the tutorial showed us how to use the AO map when composing the image in after effects of photoshop, this is a easy step however at this point a style will be shown as people will pick different intensity's depending on there eye and the effect they want to make.
