Reflective Statement

At the start of this project i set myself a task that i thought would be challenging for me under the current circumstances at the time. It turns out i found this task near impossible under the circumstances that i found myself in shortly after. However as much as i am disappointed in the results of this project i can see this as a fairly good learning point.  I have learnt better ways of creating shots within Maya, as well as finding how important it is to understand how Arnold works and its time needed. I think in the future i need to be more aware of circumstance and use my time more wisely when i am able to be productive. After many problems with the software i have also realised that saving my work may not always be the only option to keeping it safe and backing it up is important. As far as the project goes i feel i definitely need to work on story-boarding and script writing as these are the parts of the production i can see clear room for improvement.

  Tool Kit 2: Ambient Occlusion  Rendering Ambient Occlusion maps was something I was aware of from first year however this tutorial went into more detail about the shader in Arnold and as such was a really useful tutorial. Not only for the creation of good AO passes but for the knowledge I could potentially use the shader to create different effects because of the versatility of the shader. The end of the tutorial showed us how to use the AO map when composing the image in after effects of photoshop, this is a easy step however at this point a style will be shown as people will pick different intensity's depending on there eye and the effect they want to make.

Intro to maya
