Version 3
EXT. WHARF (Jungle) -DAY
Fade in on a boat departing from a wharf heading left in frame, a far establishing shot fully framing the boat and cutting most of the wharf out.

INT. BOAT -DAY
The boat moves up the river steadily, the boat is occupied by a lone hunter and in the back of the boat there is a monkey in a cage. In the control deck of the boat pictures of the hunter as a boy playing with blocks, with his father and with his family are up on the walls some framed some not, his fathers gun carved with the words for family rests in the corner of the room.

The hunter remains focused on the river only adverting his eyes to look at the picture of his family.

EXT. BOAT -DAY
A loud bump and metallic noises cause the hunter to turn around to find that the cage has ripped of the boat. The monkey however is still sat with his back turned to the Hunter. The hunter grabs his gun and descends the steps to see what the monkey is doing. When he is close the monkey turns around and shows the hunter how he has stacked some bananas.

The hunter puts down the gun looking at the pile before seeing the monkey offering him some food, he decides to get down to eye level with the monkey before the boat hits something and sends everything up into the air cutting to black.

Fade in and the hunter is looking at the point where the monkeys handcuffs connect to the boat, he looks defeated on the floor of the boat after seeming loosing his catch.
A loud thud makes the hunter open his eyes to see the monkey has placed his gun in front of him the gun seems wet on one side and right in front of his eyes he sees the words for family. As the hunter gets up the monkey makes his way yo the back of the boat to look in the direction that monkey sounds are coming from. The hunter continues to inspect the words on his fathers gun seeing the monkey longing for his own family.

The hunter makes his way up to the controls of the boat and starts to turn it around before being accompanied by the monkey hanging on the other side of the window.

EXT BOAT -DAY
We see the boat heading in the opposite direction to before, before the camera fades to black on a now empty exterior shot of the jungle.

The Martian: 3 Act Structure

Film Review: The Martian Finding how the Martian sits into the broader idea of a 3 Act structure was fairly easy, as its laid out narratively in 3 very clear acts. However deciding what part of the movies where what in terms of inciting incident, mid point and Climax where harder Distinctions. Exposition The First scenes of the movie are full of exposition showing the cast on mars taking samples and carrying out other various scientific experiments. The Title along with the design of the set shows this to be astronauts on mars and sets up the location for most of the movie going forward. Inciting Incident This would be where the rest of the astronauts leave our main character Mark Watney on mars after presuming him dead in a storm. He instead doesn't die and manages to make it to the relative safety of the space habitat where he stops himself from bleeding to death. Before the audience is told about marks plans on how to stay alive fighting the main problem he faces in the whole ...

Reflective statement 'What if Metropolis'

Reflective statement 'What if Metropolis' I found this project enjoyable however i feel that the changes to the start of this project, and the lack of artist research and visual development, made the start of the project slow and less enjoyable. I do like having choice of our concept art, because of this we have choices on if we wanted to make things easier or harder for ourselves depending on if we wanted to challenge ourselves. I felt the start of this project was slow however that may have been due to me having a clear image of the scene in my head and not needing to plan and figure out the scene i=on paper. To make my render better i would like to have used better materials in Maya, maybe using substance painter to create photo-realistic textures. In any case creating a better consistency between materials would be better, especially considering that the stage on my scene appears to be in a different style to the other materials in the scene. In the future i will need to...
