Collab Transition Effect

When making the transition I felt that the effective area wasn't being effected by the force the historian was putting on the scene. As such I made improvements to create a better effect.

To make the effect better I used replacement animation to change the shape of the transition as the historian moved across the screen. I chose this method over vertex animation as this would be easier to track when used in moderation.

I used 4 shapes to create this effect having them cascade from one to another to create a smooth effect to end my scene and start the next one. After adding motion blur in after effects the swapping out wasn't noticeable and the effect was complete and successful.

It turns out i found this task near impossible under the circumstances that i found myself in shortly after. However as much as i am disappointed in the results of this project i can see this as a fairly good learning point. I have learnt better ways of creating shots within Maya, as well as finding how important it is to understand how Arnold works and its time needed. I think in the future i need to be more aware of circumstance and use my time more wisely when i am able to be productive. Film Review :- Metropolis Metripolis is a movie made in 1927 by Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou. It was made in Germany after the first world war, during a time of hyperinflation and economical chaos. It takes alot of influence from modern art of the time, this being mainly expressionism. The circumstances in Germany after the first world war pushed many artists to create pieces inspired by depression and Grimm emotion, focusing of feeling then realism. The film is about and based in the city of metropolis where out protagonist Freder Fredersen, goes into the depths of metropolis to find a woman and sees the condition of work before committing to helps resolve the problems the workers face.
