Character Design: Session 2

We started this session by stylising famous buildings, This was a fun task as taking very recognisable buildings and making them either simpler to read or visually pleasing.

We where then given a character and where told to design the living spaces that belong to this character. I was given a knight and as such i designed a field tent for the knight as if they had been gone for a while after potentially loosing a fight.

Maya Texturing class: Substance 3

Maya Texturing class: Substance 3 In this class we went through the process of texturing this dumpster, recapping the use of fill layers and masks in Substance before being introduced to a few new tools that helped create the look of the textures. first we used the brush to paint in height information using alpha's and different brushes to create dents and parts of pressed metal. We then added anchor points to these layers allowing them to be used is functions that use the curve texture maps generated by the software. This means on the stamps we can use generators like edge ware or light as if it was modelled geometry. We then used the projection tool to project textures onto the dumpster and push onto the paint layer, this makes it easy to add images onto the texture maps for an object. This is seen with the spray can an the Graphic Graffiti on the Dumpster. Maya Render AO Pass Final Composite

Minor: Project Proposals Proposal 1: Non-Human Resources Publishing Context - This short will be designed to be published on the comedy animated short circuit, I hope to create a short that I would be proud to show at animation festivals. Even if restricted to either student or comedy based shows. The age rating I'm going for is 12, As there wont be any swearing or nudity however there will be small amounts of violence or thereat. as such it wont be published at shows aimed at children Proposal 2: Planet 32 Proposal 3: Roger the duck
